Your Hitlist For A New Kind Of Night Out

7 Sins

We only count several sins at a time when we're here - although perhaps we bring the 'lust', since the bright, Ferris-wheel charm of this Lever Street hangout calls us from afar. For starters, they cook excellent burgers and wings. You also get 2-for-1 cocktails every day until 7PM. And everywhere there are games, sweet games: shuffleboard, pool tables, foosball, joystick arcade machines. Bring your friends with a competitive streak and leave them in the cold hard dust, assuming 'pride' at last.

Junkyard Golf Club

Residents in AXIS are probably all-too-familiar with another sort of club scene; Junkyard is right over the road, offering nine-hole crazy golf courses for the unsuspecting punter. One moment, you'll be pivoting ever so gently to fire a ball up the ramp of a gold temple, the next, you're avoiding a bear in UFC shorts. Book ahead from just £8.50 per player in the week or £10 on weekends. They have several beers on draft, plus boozy slushies!

Matt & Phreds

The North West's flag-bearing jazz venue manages to be legit and welcoming for any music fan. How often do you find that in a place famed for trumpets, sax and brush sticks? They pull it off with an incredible gig programme, not to mention the amount of pepperoni pizzas circling tables every night. Onstage, you're as likely to find a brassed-up cover of Ed Sheeran as a meditative take on a Nina Simone B-side. They're hosting special VIP performances until late August, so book now while seats are still available.

Twenty Twenty Two

"Manchester's number one ping pong" bar runs their tagline, but that's an understatement. One visit to Twenty Twenty Two is enough to make regular life feel slow, quiet and soft, missing the whack of a ball on your chest. It's a wonderful kind of chaos - you serve beautifully, return, leap for the stray shot before it lands in the crevice of a sofa, all while five or six games continue around you. Make it a regular visit if you live in Manhattan, our luxury apartments on George Street that are just over five minutes away at a brisk clip.

Flight Club

Darts are hit or miss in more ways than one with a lot of people. However, Flight Club has beefed up its bullseyes, adding screens, challenges and Snakes-and-Ladders-style games to a pub classic. That means when you get a booth, everyone's the next Gary Anderson all of a sudden. Since it's your own private space, too, your teammates can cheer and shout bad nicknames. Head to Flight Club's website for bookings of six or more.

Bierkeller

Normally, you know what you're getting at this Bavarian slosh-fest. But Manchester Bierkeller is hosting a whole new show over summer - Go Gaga Brunch, a four-hour whirl through the hits of Lady Gaga, brought to you by the imitable Donna Marie, her closest impersonator. Dancer and drag queen support will be in full flow between bottomless mimosas. You're encouraged to dress up as well (firework bra optional). The Gaga show runs from early June till the very end of July, so you've got around seven performances to catch.

Little group dates are nice and all, but we're all about going large before going home - and bringing mates back, if you want to make the most of these longer evenings. City centre living is great for saying 'yes' at random and taking things at your own pace.

Meanwhile, we have spacious, open-plan homes for treating guests well, even if they're just staying for a single drink. View our remaining apartments today.
